Chiropractors use adjustments to restore the correct
function, mobility and balance to the joints of the body, in particular the joints of the
spine. As well as correcting alignment, chiropractic seeks to ensure your body's nerve
supply can function effectively, to help alleviate pain and promote health and well-being.
McTimoney chiropractic is a technique developed by a British
therapist John McTimoney. It
involves a variety of low-force adjustments, delivered solely by the hands of the
chiropractor. To patients, it often seems extremely light, as the key to success is in the
speed, dexterity and accuracy of the adjustments. There is rarely any cavitation or
gapping of joints (and hence rarely any of the cracking sounds
often associated with chiropractic).
The technique is applicable to
humans and animals. |
