There are at least ten theories
to explain how reflexology works. These theories are only now being scientifically tested.
However, regardless of how or why reflexology works, it does, and brings benefits to
thousands (see the case studies for more detail).
Benefits may include simple
bodily and mental rest and relaxation; break up and elimination of stagnant deposits;
improved blood and lymph flow to speed healing; energy release; improved digestion; pain
relief through release of endorphins and enkephalins; release from stress and tension and
a sense of spiritual and mental well-being.
