How is Reiki beneficial? The body has seven energy centres, refered to as chakras. They are located as follows: Root chakra - base of the spine Sacral chakra - pelvic area Solar plexus chakra - upper abdomen Heart chakra - centre of the chest Throat chakra - middle of the throat Third eye chakra - middle of the forehead Crown chakra - top of the head. These are the emotional centres which link to the physical body through the endocrine glands in the corresponding locations. Stress or emotional upset affects the functioning of the chakras. Through Reiki , the chakras are rebalanced to promote healing.
